How to ensure you are in the right place at the right time.

right place at right timeJune 29, 2011 Josh Richards works in the athletic department at George Mason University and is a Washington Redskins fan. He was also at the right place at the right time. Since the NFL lockout continues, many players have organized their own practice sessions. However, when only 23 Redskins players showed up for the voluntary practice one day, linebacker London Fletcher approached a crowd of fans and asked if anyone had "brought their stuff". His offer to allow a fan to help with the practice session was Josh Richards opportunity to live his dream for one day: play with the Redskins football team.

Being invited to practice with the Redskins wasn't all luck for Josh Richards. First, he made the effort to be in a position where London Fletcher would find him. Second, he was the only fan who had brought football equipment, thus allowing him to play on the field. Thirdly, he had already been there watching practice for 4 days. It was on the fifth day that not enough Redskin players showed up. His timing was right. With a lockout going on and practice being strictly voluntary the chances of not enough players being present was significantly higher.
