Before he was President: William Clinton

William Jefferson Clinton, 1993-2001 lawyer, governor of Arkansas
Both Bill Clinton's biological father and his step father worked as car salesmen. An excellent student, Clinton did receive one blemish on his academic record in elementary school. A nun gave him a "D" grade for his deportment because she believed Clinton did not give the other students ample opportunity to answer her questions.

George Walker Bush, 2001-2009 oil executive, sport team owner, governor of Texas
Not quite a star athlete in high school, George Walker Bush created a stickball league and served as a cheerleader for the school's football team. In college he liked to party and one night after drinking too much he laid down on the road and rolled himself home. Unlike his father, Bush was an average student at school. He graduated from Yale University with a low C average. Bush and Laura Welch were married in 1977. He was introduced to Laura, a schoolteacher and librarian, at a backyard barbecue. He proposed to her after a three months courtship. Source

Barack Hussein Obama, 2009-Present ice cream server and construction worker
Barack Obama’s first job consisted of scooping vanilla, mint chip and rocky road into cups and cones, along with crafting sundaes and shakes at Baskin-Robbins; he also worked construction, sold island trinkets in a Hawaii gift shop during the summer after his freshman year of college and worked at a deli counter in Hawaii making sandwiches.
